New Chinese Cookery Courses at Westminster Kingsway College

Westminster Kingsway College offers a wide range of specialist courses for those who are working in the hospitality industry. These courses take place at Westminster Kingsway College's Victoria Centre in central London. And now two new specialist Chinese cookery courses have been introduced.

 

Chinese Culinary Skills

This 10 week course in Chinese culinary skills focuses on traditional dishes and innovation to allow chefs to make menus distinguishable with the aim of increasing turnover and profit margins. This course is equally suitable for anybody with a strong desire to learn authentic oriental cuisine.

 

Example topics include:

·         Traditional Peking duck and 2011 modern nitro Peking duck (using liquid nitro to produce crispier skin) plus handmade pancakes

·         Steamed dim sum variety, fried dim sum variety

·         Chinese street food

·         Noodle pulling, tofu making from beans.

 

10 weeks (1 day per week - Mondays from 4pm - 9pm)

Monday 23 April 2012 - Monday 25 June 2012

Course fee: £499 per person

 

Oriental-inspired Patisserie and Confectionary

On this 10 week course, you will learn about Chinese-inspired plated desserts for the UK and European markets. You will look at how Asian restaurants can produce great desserts for very little cost. This course is suitable for anybody with a strong desire to expand their patisserie repertoire.

 

10 weeks (1 day per week - Wednesdays from 4pm - 9pm)

Wednesday 25 April 2012 - Wednesday 27 June 2012

Course fee: £499 per person
